Description

Volvo 70 'HYPR' (ex CAMPER) - the Botin-designed Volvo Open 70 that finished 2nd overall in the 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race with Camper/Emirates Team New Zealand, now available for offshore race charters.

A proven record-breaker with line honours and course records in the Antigua-Bermuda, Annapolis-Newport and Vineyard races, she has a Southern Spars rig, keel-stepped mast, canting keel and a new 2025 upwind sail inventory - built for the world's great offshore races.

Upgrades & Modifications

In 2016, as 'Warrior' this yacht underwent a complete refit and series of performance upgrades at the Longitud Cero facility in Burriana, ESP. Design and engineering was overseen by Carkeek Design Partners. As part of the refit process, team staff removed, inspected, and serviced every item of deck hardware and winches

on the yacht, replacing fresh following the paintjob.


Upgrades:

  • Keel extended from 4.8 to 5.2m draft  

  • Bulb weight reduced from 5t to 4t 

  • ballast tanks installed. 1.6t water - 800kg per side aft

  • Aft escape hatch installed in transom, as well as life raft compartments added.

  • Coach roof design was altered.

  • All topsides and foils faired and repainted.

  • 4th pedestal was added, with addition of overdrive box.

  • VOR media desk and structure removed, allowing fresh water system, with on deck tap to be added for no weight gain.

  • All running rigging, loops, strops built new in-house

  • Three reef capable boom and mast design, with internal locks and jammers
